Awesome Tip: How Business Will Change In A Voice-First World

This video is from a 4Ds session I gave in London — many of you have been asking me for more tactical, business-focused content and this format is a really good way for me to provide that for you all.

You’ll get to hear my thoughts on voice, why convenience vs brand is such an important dynamic, why you should diversify across social platforms, why companies like 7-Eleven are in deep trouble over the next few decades, and much more.

0:10 – Timing is just as important as being right

3:22 – Why brand vs convenience matters so much in a voice-first world

9:02 – If Instagram disappeared, would you disappear?

12:09 – Your creative must be contextual to platforms/audience

17:07 – How startups can rise in the next economic crash

19:17 – How to roll out new products/brands

21:24 – Subjectivity can hinder creative

24:32 – Don’t let short-term metrics hurt long-term metrics

27:22 – Optimizing social ad spend

  1. Gary, I watch a lot of your videos and plan to watch them all eventually. I listen to your books on audible while I commute. Out of this, I have curved my thought process and I am taking the first step into Entrepreneurism. When I make it big, and all eyes are on me, I can only hope to inspire someone the way you and Grant Cardone have inspired me.

  2. This is gold. I’m currently saving for a laptop and I’m going to do Instagram twitter and YouTube and create a website with an email list. Now I just need to figure out how to balance that and college and my part time job.

  3. Timing is everything.
Convenience is King, and Brand is Queen. If people are hungry they eat. If it's executed well long term, then you got a Brand.
Multi-dimensional, if you only have 1 platform you're vulnerable (MySpace).
Relevance, know your audience. Use common sense with creative. Sell to people who are interested.
SM is bottom up, not top down. It's the reverse which is why some don't get it. You can't hide behind a big company.
Build a profitable business. Keep it simple and real. Debt funding will bury you in a recession.
Don't guess. Ask your customers or clients what they want.
Stage project offers and partnerships. Don't go all in, do % in stages. Motivates and accountable.
You need humility to be creative. If the big boss or client doesn't get it, they won't appreciate it. Have to educate them.
Test the market. Don't pander. If you want to sell or see a result, run an ad.

  4. Dude it’s all going back to the men n women pulling a cart of wares down streets to sell. We want the ice cream truck but also have it sell us a condom, marijuana or cbd, a snickers, 2 pizza pockets and an iPhone charger and AAA batteries

  5. Gary Vee I’ve been watching your videos like a crack addict hits the pipe. I’m a registered nurse and can’t wait for u to speak to healthcare parity and how to make that happen. But dude!! All them water n juice bottles! I’m not easily distracted but I literally cannot watch this video.

  6. I love that you put out these conversations as videos for us all to benefit from. I can't get enough of your content and I'm learning so much in each video which is been helpful in growing my business. Thank you Gary!!

  7. Starting a podcast is probably the best b2b and b2c strategy as far as differentiation goes. I have been wanting to start one for the past year. I'm now actually doing it. @garyvee talks about the brand aspect- as a real estate broker, when i sit down with a prospect and they know i have an "internet radio show" that instantly separates me from every other agent/broker.
