Half the people in these comments say I'm on the hustle fuck yea work ethic no sleep bitches, yet your getting no results your just putting your self in a shit situation because Gerry said you won't get to the grate if you don't suffer and the other half are a fucking posers. Me I'm working I can be working harder something you learn as you grow and know more. Yet I still go through times where it's fucking hard. See I'm real fuck this hustle, grind, crushing it talk bull shit. It's nice but be real when. If your really doing it your not thinking it when your in that 4th day no sleep working on a product launch your not thinking hey I'm crushing it no your mind is on getting the tasks done. Once that is all said and done then your crushing it. Now get back to work.

Laura, if you see this: as an immigrant of a single parent and a fan-turned-hater-turned-fan of Gary (my problem, not Gary's), here's my take on your question:
1) It's hard to grow up seeing the struggles our parents went through for for us to eat a warm meal, to dress well enough to fit in at school, and spend all their money buying steaks for dinner 3 times a week so you can grow as big as the American kids and not get picked on (thanks mom). And it feels selfish and it hurts to even think to put ourselves before them once we're capable of that choice. The first thing you need to do is talk to your mom about how you feel and your aspirations. Don't make the mistake of assuming how she feels or what she would say–that's an imaginary discussion you're having with yourself. If after that conversation you still feel like you need to support your mom, who are notoriously skilled at guilt-tripping, then do what you need to do to sleep at night.
2) You're confusing the question of whether to support your mom financially and the question of whether you have enough to start your thing. If you're supporting your mom then just think of it as another bill or responsibility. Plan accordingly. And iIf you're a fan of Gary's then you must've heard him talk about not being fancy–do what you need to do using the power of the slap of glass, metal, and plastic that is your smartphone in your palm, and exhaust every resource you can first while waiting for the opportunity to build cash. I feel like if cash is the only thing stopping you then there are other flaws in your plan.
Anyway, I'm not financially successful, nor am I experienced enough to think myself wise, but I have achieved the immigrant's American dream: become educated, have a career, and own a home. These are just the ideas I've thoughts to go by, and it's been liberating since I've decided to just accept things as what they are and only change what's within my power and desire. Everything else is noise, and I'd prefer to not let noise affect my dreams. So fuck noise.
