Awesome Tip: What You Really Fear Is Not Failure | DailyVee 597

So many people ask Gary how he isn’t afraid of failure and how they can get past their own fear of it. The reality is that you aren’t actually afraid of failure. You are afraid of the potential judgment you will get from your friends and family and possibly even random strangers on the internet who see your content. This is why Gary is so adamant about ignoring outside voices. Once you are able to stop hearing the cheering and booing and focus on what you feel is right, you will be able to move much faster, fail quickly and get on the right path in less time than if you are constantly worried about judgment.

  1. Time 4:50. Oh my Gosh! Please dive into that more what you're talking about there! Millions of people need to hear that. Not just here on Youtube but on all your other platforms too! WOW, that was just mind-blowing for me. Thank you!

  2. that's the effect of stigma. It's not bad to be aware of what others think or say about you, but what's bad is, if you let those words pull you down. Don't count how many friends you have left, instead count all the things you are starting and going to start to achieve!

  3. I can’t even lie, Gary gave me the confidence to start my channel back up and this time I want to be more consistent. I’ve always started but then stopped because I was so worried about judgement from friends, and also thinking i’d blow up or gain traction after a month, but I understand now that it takes time. Anyone reading this, do what you love. You only got one life, so make it count. And yeah people might laugh, might joke, and might even roll their eyes when they constantly see your content on social media, but they’re just mad because they don’t have the courage to do what you’re doing.
Do what you love, and love what you do.

  4. Gary. I have to speak to you. You’re a huge inspiration in my life & it was because of you I got myself out of depression to get my life back together.

To cut a long story short. I’m a professional sportsman I dominated in the leagues for the last 5 seasons but have been faced with terrible politics. I was the number 1 player in the reserve team but didn’t get an opportunity because the team gave it to a player younger than me because the governing body pay the teams to play young players who have been through the academy system. So I have been pushed aside due to these financial politics.

I’m currently out of contract with nowhere to go but I am more than good enough to play. It’s proven with stats. I don’t know what to do.

Every team here is using this governing body rule to their advantage to make money so players like myself who are performing 10x better than an academy player are not getting the opportunities they deserve.

I’m 26 years old & have given blood, sweat & tears to this game. I can’t do anything else. Having given so much to the sport for so many years & seeing myself on the sideline is giving me anxiety attacks. Big names in the game are telling me I’m the most unlucky player they have seen & these are head coaches of major teams. They are saying I couldn’t do anything more to earn a place in the team.

I’m struggling with this. I put in too much work for nearly 2 decades. I worked just as hard & have performed just as well if not better than other players who are playing at that level.

My situation is due to signing with the biggest team in the country & not getting the opportunities whilst I was in my early 20’s due to the competition & taking advantage of that academy player rule. Now I’m 26 the teams I should be easily playing for I’m not because those teams are benefitting financially to play academy players.

I’m in a very tough place & slowly sinking back into depression due to all this stress. The thought of leaving the game & doing something else gives me an anxiety attack.

  5. My takeaway:
    1. When you have nothing, you fear being judged. When you have everything, you fear losing it all.
    2. Being authentic on social media is a value investment of your time and effort.
    3. Self-dependence breeds happiness.

  6. 100% agree about the quote "how you do anything is how you do everything" every one has a bias. You get successful business people saying it but then they are in poor shape. You get a fitness enthusiast saying it yet they neglect their business game. When you love it, you go all in, simple as.
