  1. My first SMS (read text messaging) marketing campaign was run in the fall of 2004 for Cingular around their sponsorship with a NFL team to go unnamed in this post for an obvious reason. It was SO basic looking back now and the technology only allowed it to be run on the one carrier (read Verizon, Sprint and other customers could not participate – OLD SCHOOL!). I then worked directly for a solutions provider in the industry for 6 years working with live entertainment clients before switching to the brand side to run mobile for Sports Authority, then Cabela's and most recently, Bass Pro Shops. Many brands now have over 1 millions subs in their text messaging list, some as far back as 2011. I'm not writing to boast but rather offer help if anyone has questions about the industry or best practices. I'm not going to lie, after being a proponent of the industry for almost 15 years and hearing Gary pump it up, got me excited!

  2. Hello, Gary,

Incredible ideas and thoughts. Thank you for your experience. I see that you are interested in communications solutions and test them giving people the feedback regarding text instead of emails. That's true but the voice has a better conversion rate with social media and you can see the answers vis statistic. It could be the next step.

We can provide you with our solutions via SMS, Social media: Facebook, What's App and voice regarding marketing campaigns to use Outbound IVR to engage, communicate, do promotion for your tests. https://www.apifonica.com/use-cases I'd love to tell you more via an online meeting. Drop me an email if you are interested in i.smolin@apifonica.com

Have a good weekend! Hope to hear from you soon.

  3. Hey Gary i've tweeted you and empathy wines I live in Delaware and can't order your wine here, is there any alternatives i'm really looking forward to trying it. If not I guess i'll order it to a cousins house and hope they don't drink it all haha.

  4. Hey Gary, I have an idea about a project I want to do and it’s not just an idea, it’s something I’m very actively doing and working on. It’s a project that has to do with mental health to help a close friend of mine and you were my biggest source of inspiration for this project. It’s still in the baby stages but I’m actively putting every waking moment in to this and I was hoping I could get your thoughts or opinions on it. It’s a very long explanation to really understand the story and passion behind what I’m doing and I don’t want you to look at a giant block of text and just feel like you can’t be bothered with it because I know your time is important to you. However this means so much to me that I fully intend to be messaging every person I possibly can who has some sort of platform to speak on mental health to maybe help spread the project around when it was finished. All it takes is 1, and with you being the reason for this I really want it to be you and I will continue to reach out until you either tell me to fuck off or you give it a listen. Thank you
