  1. In my first job out of college i worked 40 hours a week behind an office desk. I spoke 30 words a week. I let it all come to me and was promoted at my 1 year mark in the company, and have enjoyed a nice raise. I will be on year 3 in 6 months plan to do the same.

  2. Thanks Gary! You don't know how much this helped me. I've been struggling with the job hunt after graduation and like you said I've been expecting people in the industry to care about me. But you're right, I understand that in the end no one cares about you until you show results. This video and the article helped me change my mindset and strategy going into job interviews. Thanks so much for your advise through different platforms you're the man!

  3. No.

Some young people just mindlessly work thinking they're going to get recognized ten years down the road. And then then they don't, and they're still working. In the opposite path they thought was going to eventually put them on the right track.

You have to work right. You have to work smart. Because practice doesn't make perfect unless the practice is perfect. And no person is going to give you ways of working right because that would be a conflict of interest. They don't want to train potential competitors.

  4. Gary, I found out about you just less than 3 weeks ago… and I am in love with you (no homo). I'm a small business owner. I quit my very-well-paying job (in Saudi Arabia) about 10 months ago to work on my business. I'm trying to make it and you're helping me very much. I'd love to talk to you one day. My thanks for your awesome work!

  5. At the end – when you have gone through trying to find shortcuts and failed, when you have tried procrastinating while thinking you are working hard, when you have bragged about your goals and haven't reached any, when you have ignored best practices and followed your own untested and wrong paths, when you have realized the preciousness of time and you have been beaten to the group and destroyed by life… you will burn away your delusions and what is most important… you will understand the power of silent work ethic. Nothing more beautiful than that. Thank you for this video – touched my heart on a very deep level. Much love and respect!

  6. True, as a older millennial this is insightful, BUT I do know this "talking" helps you to hype you up and get you in the right mindset. Help you prime and bring yourself into the zone but so many people don't really move past that. You think about the past to remember that you have accomplished a lot of cool stuff, but no way should you feel entitled to anything… I do think that we as millennials need to work on being patient and getting out of the microwave mentality and not be afraid of the grind and all parts of the grind, not just the fun glamours stuff. But also the stuff that no one really talks about BECAUSE that is what is being talked about in this video… doing what most people don't do for the right amount of time, which is normally to go above and beyond average.

  7. Gary your loosing me.. your content does not excite me or interest me as much as far as information wise goes, anymore. One way to gain an intellectual community fan base is to talk about whats really going on; the military industrialization of corporate empire of the united states, christian fascists, the surveillance state that We must engage in dialog that is based on truth empathy and reality, Gary i love you but we need MORE, MORE, MORE
