Every day of my life, I get anywhere between five and twenty emails from people who want to quit.

They’re usually coming to me as a last resort, so they don’t quit. They want me to convince them to stick it out. Often times they’ve been at it for something like 8 or 9 months.

My friends, that is nothing.

I think about these emails a lot. I think about when the first 18 months of WineLibraryTV when nobody was watching.

Let’s talk about the time it takes to achieve something. Patience. I was practically losing money building Wine Library. But it paid off. In the end, it paid off in a big way.

  2. Absolutely had success and adding skills since 1989 but failures along the way. Lots of failures.

    THE BAD or MAYBE THE LEARNING THROUGH HARD KNOCKS
    Success then failure and more failure and success and smart guy but again broke at 2008. Painful looking back at the high wages made many years and very little to show for it. I only had one farm that I kept bought in 1995 and paid $3000 down and $386 for 10 years and in 2008 it was maybe worth $70,000.
    Sold two houses I had and in debt and failed to pay some credit cards in 2008. Broke and bad credit for nearly a decade.
    Tried to be a realtor in 2005-2008. Got a broker's license and kept it current. Failed to make more than IT.
    I made great money a decade or more in IT and lost it all. In 2008, now a financial failure and now 44 years old. Crap!

    THE GOOD
    Got married and in 2011 I went back to IT making almost six figures.
    Saved in 401k and made real returns in the super bull market where 120.34% return in 2019.
    During the same time took $100,000 and started buying very low cost real estate now worth maybe $400,000 by adding value.
    During same time 2013-2019 added 12 mobiles to farm. Now farm in worth maybe $600,000 being a real cash cow.

    AND NOW
    Maybe after last IT contract I can "retire" at 56 as a millionaire … maybe
    No real debt
    Growing rental real estate with 29 paid for units throwing off six figures net. Grew rapidly from 2-28 from 2014-2018.
    Half million in retirement funds still
    Looking to grow to 50 units in next 5 years. We added 7 last year and 1 in 2020 already.

    THE LESSON
    Keep working at it. Sometimes success presents itself and you just have to be ready to grasp it. Stay in the game.
    When you find a niche then play it until it is played out
    People said I crazy along the journey but now I am "LUCKY". Funny how luck follows the hard working obsessed.

Ya i dont want to be 80 and finally make it haveing to pop 1000 viagra thats asumeing i evean livevto 80 who the hell want to pretend that people still have a reason to live that long anyway i sure as hell dont want to wait that long i want to have money to enjoy my life while im young and have energy to do things, i think its stupid to think its worth waiting for, money is the only thing that allows a person to have any level of freedom to do the things that makebthem happy anyone who claims otherwise is a fucking liar

  26. Men overestimate what they can do in a year. And underestimate what they can do in lifetime. That quote has changed my life. My perspective has widened and now I see everything clearer now. Things I have taken for granted now have value that I wouldn’t trade for the world and the goals I have been scrambling to accomplish for years I’m now knocking out one by one. I thank that quote. And I thank you Gary. You defined the grind. Respect. Keep the momentum.
