Awesome Tip: The #1 Reason to Fire Your #1 | LinkedIn TalentConnect Keynote

Company culture is the most important metric when it comes to the business’s overall performance. Even one toxic employee can bring down the efficiency of the entire company and can go unscathed because they are a “top-performing employee”. The truth is that “top performer” is actually a hidden cost and while it may appear that they are doing better than the others, it’s really because their toxicity is bringing down everyone else’s performance and if that toxic employee was let go everyone else would be happier and more efficient. Make employee morale the #1 priority of your business and the profits will follow.

  1. I have friends on LinkedIn with very interesting content, who have 500+ connections and their articles get maybe 3 likes. How Is LinkedIn the place to go viral? This is Bullshit. I think Gary Is Brilliant and knows a lot, but calling LinkedIn the number one place to get your shit checked out? No, it's not.

  2. Great speech Gary. I've noticed you've really improved your vocabulary the last few years and it makes the huge ideas and fundamental understandings behind everything you say hit that much harder. I completely agree with your thesis here as well. Tech will drive this change in empathy.

  3. So true garyvee you need to get rid of the people who are bribing poison into the work place no matter how much value they bring a toxic enviornment can cause way more damage. Thanks for all the amazing content brother looking forward to more as we move forward into the new year!!

  4. Your comment on "How easy it is for 3 people to gang up and create a narrative to get someone fired" resonates with me. Worked at a company for 32 years as a manager and seen employees do this to others and then ultimately to myself. Fired and replaced by an employee that had quit twice and had never been a leader, who I counseled continually because she hated her coworkers and now she is their boss and I was thrown out like trash after the company told me every day what a great job I was doing. They decided upon meeting with 3 employees that I was a horrible person with a long standing problem that was never verbalized or documented. So yeah it does happen as companies pretend to know you and then listen to anything and decide your fate. Reality Check…Protect yourself and don't work somewhere for 32 years. Not a smart move in these times

  5. Recently i spend so much time thinking about how i would hire, motivate, and manage to have a team that is not only productive but happy to be in. This video come to me randonly but really inspiring in deed and help me reinforce my idea that good relationships are key too have a good bussiness.

  6. Hi Gary
Only just started watching your stuff a few days ago as I hadn't heard about you before.
I think the info that you are sharing I amazing.
I have been wracking my brains for months trying to think of which direction to take my buisness as I have loads of ideas and want to bring them all into fruition at some point and you have just told me that this is possible and actually a good idea so that's great for me so thank you for that!!
Being a brand is a great idea, I was told many years ago that one day I was going to be a household brand so maybe I will be now Haha.
Sorry for ranting lol…so was just wondering if getting the brand name trademarked is a priority or should I put out content first and worry about the name later?
Thanks for your work from the bottom of my heart….I don't think people actually realise that you are actually trying to save our skin quite literally and I love you for that….the world needs a shed load more Gary's!!

  7. @garyvee might appreciate the hip hop reference; this gives me the Source Awards vibe when Bad boy vs Death Row was at it's appex.

Obviously GV comes from a positive and loving place, but shot's were fired, I LOVE it!!

His team has to do a cartoon with him on stage with the full Jet's uniform (incl. helmet), bumping into the CFO…. caption:

"If you think empathy, compassion, and doing the right thing is always always the right thing ; join the Honey Empire".

The cultural reference and the humor in the dichotomy- layers upon layers.

  8. i have been following you for some yearsi love your videos ,but in nowdays when reffering to a country on any platform you must be especific when you say in a cave in peru. maybe you do not know about much peru's civilization twounsands of years .there were already cities built .that ,should give you an idea.
it would sound better, in the mountains of peru or the city of MACHU PICCHU ,7 wonder of the world .i think that way people do not generalize the concept .this is only a suggestion ,thank you.
