  1. I'm 20, my dad is also an electrician and this hit me so hard, I had exactly the same thing with struggling to enjoy that hard work but seeing this and putting into perspective how good I have it man this is exactly what I needed to hear wow

  2. My takeaways from the conversation:

-Unhappiness is a part of doing what you love.
-Getting comfortable with discomfort is required
-Every time you’re working on something you don’t truly like, go back to gratitude

What Gary’s doing through this is so so genuine and authentic. He’s changing people’s lives, pushing them to take the first step and helping them get the right perspective. I genuinely believe this is the greatest thing you can do for your community. It doesn’t matter how many people follow you, its about how many that care. This is his family and I haven’t seen a more genuine person on social than Gary. I’ve literally followed only and only his advice and replicated it on social. Really in a happy place with what I’m currently doing. Thanks Gary for doing this!

  3. This podcast made me cry.
I’m also 18 and My dad currently owns a business and it’s struggling, and it’s paining me to see him struggling.
I know how hard he has worked throughout his life (also an immigrant parent) and how much he has done for me. He has done everything for me, spoilt me when I was younger, holidays almost every weekend, everything handed to me, and I feel so shit that now he is struggling and I just can’t give back.
I worked before in a Café that he previously owned (that closed down and now he has a restaurant) but I was so inconsistent with it and sometimes never showed up because I was lazy and sometimes loved and sometimes HATED working there as a waiter. I only did it for the experience and plus I got paid. But now I told him I wanted to work in somewhere like IKEA stacking shelves because I really don’t like the new restaurant and I’m tired of working as a waiter. It just really irritates me that I just didn’t help enough. Plus the one thing he wanted from me was to get good grades, and I couldn’t even provide him with that. Because I was set on something way different to school.
I’m very grateful and have gratitude and I want to spend more time with my dad (he’s always working) but I don’t know if I can work somewhere that I’m just not into. Plus he’s always in and out handling business and clients so I don’t think he’s in the restaurant 24/7

  4. Gary V:How old are you? 40? You are a baby!
    50? You are a baby!

  5. well i am 16 and TBH i work 0 hours a week, but i do read books like biographies of successful people like elon musk etc and also self help guides etc. I try to work alot on myself..like working out, learning self defense, learning typing, improving my singing etc so gary my main question is that can working on yourself at my age be considered helpful and can it be compared with working on something..like a business or at a shop etc?

  6. Gary how about doing the right thing and stop supporting and perpetuating degenerate rappers To teenagers. It seems you will only do something if it helps your brand and will never take a moral stand that impacts your popularity.
