Awesome Tip: Why Do I Curse So Much? | Gary Vaynerchuk Original Film

It’s impossible for me to not be “me.”

Even if I leave money on the table.

It’s why I curse so much. I could easily get so many more speaking gigs and opportunities if I stopped cursing. But to me, being inauthentic to make a few extra dollars is just too much of a price to pay.

  1. There’s a difference in being authentic and being obnoxious. Where does this logic end? I am most comfortable wearing sweat pants and t-shirts, so I’m perfectly fine if I wear that to an important business meeting? Obviously not. If you are incapable of expressing emotions without resorting to Garyvee levels of cursing, perhaps you could benefit from expanding your vocabulary. We like to make excuses for our weaknesses, so we say “oh that’s just who I am!” No. It’s a weakness. Do you need to please everyone? Of course not. But perhaps there is a line to be drawn?

  2. People who are upset by swear words really need to reprioritize. There were a lot of physicians in the 1800s that didn't like the way ignaz semmelweis communicated the need to wash hands between the morgue and delivering a baby. The result? They ignored him and thousands more mother's died than needed. If swearing upsets you, you have an ego and need to get a grip. Just realize you're letting your bizarre repulsion for arbitrary sounds forming a word you were told is naughty stand in the way of knowledge. Get over yourself.

  3. I curse way more than him, once I tried to cut back on swearing because my little sister was starting to copy me. I hadn't said a cuss all day and during dinner my parents asked me if I was ok, I asked what they meant and they said "you havent sworn once all day, we just think maybe you are sick or something". My family finds it weird when I DONT cuss. It's part of me and I try to cut back a small amount around my younger siblings but there really isn't any point considering they swear more than they should.

  4. To me Gary you are one of the few who is 100% Genuine and you my friend follow your own prinples without filters. That what i like in your content you are Genuine , honest and humble… sure many will not like your stuff, but who cares about them! Keep up with your amazing work every single day of your life.

  5. I mean thats cool that your all about being casual and "being yourself", but lets face it any of us who aren't famous (dont even know what your even famous for other than ranting on social media), tried to get away with swearing all like that to whoever, whenever, we would be labeled unprofessional, my point being the only reason it works for you is because your famous so I really wouldn't encourage regular people to do it lol, just saying
