Business Tips: Why Working for Free Gives You Authority | Surprising a Fan From Twitter
Awesome Tip: Why Working for Free Gives You Authority | Surprising a Fan From Twitter
Super happy that I got to surprise a fan from Twitter! Calling fans in general is always a really good way to keep your community engaged and in-tune with whatever it is that you’re doing.
One of the main points that I really want to hit on again from this episode was the idea of working for free to build a reputation and credibility… If you don’t have a degree or the experience that other people do have, you should be working for free for 5-10 clients and crush it for them so that you can build up a strong reputation moving forward.
Thank you for watching this video. I hope that you keep up with the daily videos I post on the channel, subscribe, and share your learnings with those that need to hear it. Your comments are my oxygen, so please take a second and say ‘Hey’ ;).

Great Gary, I dropped out of college and I now do freelance video. I hit up big companies in my city make them free videos and from there on I make monthly content from them. Free gives you the leverage!
Love the 3 ways to make it in this game, degree, for free work or eat shit and build your brand up
My friend. Why do people believe in God when there's Gary Vee? He is the incarnation of the almighty himself! Bro thanks so much for your hard work dude you are leading a fucking god damn revolution and like Neo, I don't think you understand how big it is and is GROWING every damn day. Motherfuck. Thanks dude!!!
Daily Energy! Thank you Gary!
I'm on my way to working for free with my new business as well.
How would you go about asking? im nervous of not saying the "right" thing in either the DM's or email. Does anybody have an example of what they write? I would like to be able to work for one of the 24 MLS soccer teams.
4:05 People are spending 4+ fucking grueling years at universities studying under industry veterans and experts to become experts in their fields, so "a piece of paper" is a bit of an oversimplification. I went through it and not a single cent of my tuition was wasted. I do however absolutely love what you said at 6:00. That, I believe, is the reality.

What happens when you work for free as an intern for someone to gain experience in the industry you’re wanting to get into and after interning the leader of your team tells you they will pay you for your work and effort but they end up slacking on their end to and don’t keep their word to pay you as well as lack the proper leadership to lead the team to build his brand? You voice your concerns about where the integrity of how the team functions when it comes to paying employees and you get shut out. At what point do you say it’s ok to continue working for someone who doesn’t keep their word but still want to gain experience still? While my loyalty is a big part of who I am but when your deal is to work for free three months and then after 3 months you will start to get paid and you don’t get paid for the work you do ?
Watch Gary Vee LIVE in Singapore in July 2018: http://www.nacsingapore.com/brennan
(Found this today cuz i'm putting out Intern/Freelancer applications to work with me and my YouTube channel and Amazon Store)
my quick notes:
how to start building a brand: (memory card company example)
Make content for people who are buying that stuff.
Make a funny video for IG and target ppl looking to buy memory cards.
Provide utility or entertainment. (or escapism) (lots of ppl watch DailyVee for pure entertainment)
Trade both UTILITY and ENTERTAINMENT (garyV does both)
"VaynerMedia would be smaller not bigger had i Held onto all these good ideas"
Haha I love how Gary had to qualify his 60 Minutes TV Show statement… "I was watching 60 Min. last night *in the background, while I was working*" hahaha
Love this video, today i was offered a job as a revenue auditor at a casino in baton rouge. Pay was $13.50. Nice wage and benefits but i declined because its in my heart to create music and be a artist. i am now getting ready to move to LA in 3 months to continue my journey. I turned down job security because i know my purpose and my passion is real! Never give up guys! – @Beeisthefuture
What do they mean here by 'preparatory' ? Cheers VN

1:23 definately a strong password
Working for free gives you authority but it doesn't give you authority over rent and bills that needs to be paid.
This was legit like sitting on a coaching call where people pay stacks for!!! Straight fire!!
8:29 nice shot to make a brand
Gary's validation face on escapism. Please repeat, make that a 'thing', for all validation. ahah
Oh Gary, you are so lovable. Don't ever change!
Gary just a quick question how do you ignore that almost each of your employees is on the phone while being with you?
Gary loving his delivery @ 6:48
