  1. Negotiations is like composing music:

Claude Debussy “Music is the silence between the notes.” What that means is that the impact of the music has as much to do with how you use silence as it does with how you actually play the notes.

Without silence between the notes it’s just noise

  2. Gary, big fan here. My thought is – if I was writing a 21st century book, it would be multimedia, and if I could buy this clip and put it in my book (somewhere in the negotiating chapter as a great example of tactic #23), that would be cool. Old way: try to contact your lawyers, they don't know me from Adam, am I legit blah blah. Future way (maybe now with NFTs but with some other blockchain device, since NFTs are energy-expensive) If this clip was available on an NFT market [NOTE: I know this is not the exact use case for NFTs **right now**] for a fair price, I would just go buy the clip and you'd get your sliver of the royalties forever… no friction for me because by you having it on the market place you already decided your fair price for ANYONE to use it and I instantly know the terms & conditions…plus the citation is built in to the multimedia via the tech. PS off subject but just bought my 3rd case on wine-text, awesome Super Tuscan for $40 which is a great bargain, loving it.
