Awesome Tip: Why a Chip on Your Shoulder Is the Greatest Motivation | DailyVee 417

Life is about alternatives… You can either dwell on the past and say “I’m not successful because…” or you can take control of your life and work around anything that’s going on. Look, I 100% respect the shit out of the fact that there are some people that grew up with parents that were drug addicts or that have had to work 3 jobs for the last 5 years and then lose everything… But, when given the opportunity to take control of your life and push through, I don’t know what the other reasonable alternative possibly could be.

  1. We should all be macro optimistic! We have life! If you’re reading this you have life! And if no one has told you that you’re important lately or at all I’m telling you, you’re fucking important! And I really mean that. The greatest gift you can give to the world is to be yourself because no one else can! Much love!!!

  2. Around 4:10 when he talks about the real world problems people face in life, that has to be shared with everyone having personnel difficulties in life. His he hi my brings me value to rebuild my mental infrastructure that allows me to keep going in my family’s start-up.

  3. I’m trying to figure this non expectation stuff and see if it’s really bs or not. Like you have expectations of the people who film this show so I’m going to need more content explaining that process because in order to not be let down from people you had to take a course because it is indeed a learn behavior.

  4. Breaking up the vlog with the human aspect is great! It brings a different, also much needed, style of value. I see how Gary interacts with his team (i.e. Razing on Babin and Drock to keep team dynamics and moral in place) and I learn a lot about leadership and how to treat people with these human moments. Also love seeing anything bad, like Gary being late or addressing team issues, because we all have to work on those things.

  5. timestamp:
got lazy and didnt timestamp the start- need to rewatch
6:00 he doubles down and elaborates on what giving without expectations means and kindness- I fucking LOVE it
8:20 to find balance- go extreme- like a bridge -WTF!!!
lol love the banter with the guys (:

  6. I completely agree that having a chip on your shoulder can be great motivation- I use it myself. But I did not like your comments regarding depression and women being beaten by their husbands- they don’t always live in nice houses and aren’t use to working. It is often incredibly complicated and not as easy as saying ‘and’. I know you didn’t mean it to offend but I found some of your comments in the video very flippant and disheartening. I am normally a big fan of your content.

  7. Im 100% down to get more "personal" with the vlog. I do believe that you are a great motivation for most of us vaynernation but the human part is something that I'm pretty sure more of us want to know… You are the best GaryVee and I hope you come to South America (specially Buenos Aires) soon!
