I needed this today
Holding myself accountable in your comments. Check my channel in 9 months.
I quit watching you anymore.
I hate to say it, but I did need this. I've been watching your videos less and less because after a while I started using own discipline/motivation to "do something about it." I thank you for telling me that I don't need you. I only needed to watch a few of videos and I'm ready to rock.
TRUE
THATS WHY I LOVE THIS GUY! NO F*CKIN BULLSH*T! HE MAKES ME LOOK AT MYSELF. I AM FULL OF SHIT. HE PUTS A MIRROR UP TO MY FACE. I AM NOT TOGETHER. THATS WHY IM WATCHING GARY V. HE IS THE REAL DEAL.

You are the man
Really good point Gary. So I'll gtf out of here now and get back to work 😉
shit just got real!
You don't have to be motivated to do something. Especially if it is coming from outside, not from your inner space. Look at Gary, he has his shit. His story that he wants to fulfill, something that is logical and pulling to him. His path is clear. You need a path, a way, an intention that is clear. Then you will see how motivation is not needed. It will just later appear from inside of you as a result of the action. Not the other way around. Action creates "motivation" or should I say – excitement and momentum. Sit down, and proclaim what will you do next and what is your intention – say it out loud. And go.
I need Gary to Kick my ass the GaryVee way!
you are legit
fuck gary
you win
.period
"People love the feeling of being motivated. They don't like putting it to work to do something about the feeling." Hardcore truth
Luv the realness
BOOM!
Oh, I needed this today.
😉 best
One Of The Greatest 2:14 Of All Time….
Thanks. I needed this
well. im sure not care what this guy is saying.
Hello Gary, it's me again!
What you say here is good, but I don't belong to those who like the "feels shot". Actually, Michael Jordan gets me more in state. He talks more about the mental side than the work, which resonates with me more.
Back to my "I have to meet you" hustle:
I'm from Paris and crossed the ocean to spend 2 weeks in New York City to meet you.
Yesterday, I waited over 3 hours in the lobby of Hudson Yards to have that conversation about influencer marketing, that I think we must have.
Then I saw Indie (right when I was about to leave) who told me you were out of town until Monday (ouch!). I didn't know she was that tall!
Even if you don't agree what I have to tell you, I wanna know what you think.
We have to talk about what's wrong with what TapInfluence and other Mavrcks are doing.
You and I would have a great moment, even for 3 minutes, if you can find time next week to see me, even at 7am in the lobby.
Or 10pm. Whatever works for you. Who cares? I did 5000 miles. I think I can do 7am in Hudson Yards.
I'm leaving by the end of next week.
Wish you the best on your trip and a good game on Sunday.
Tom
PS : I'll keep emailing you… Obviously.
Talk about self-awareness, I've been half-pregnant on diving into Crushing It, even having bought every book you've written the day they've been released, reading them over and over. I know I've been half pregnant, because I've been scared to do the work. Scared I won't be taken seriously. And recently, scared that my fiancee would think my ideas and plans were stupid, impractical, and a waste of time.
So tonight, I finally brought up my ideas to her. I showed her the website I'm building content for, my plans for further content, the growth and monetization strategies looking at the long game, and some real-world examples of people using similar models in different markets to make damn good livings, even if they're not #1 and #2 players. My biggest fear was that she was going to say it was stupid, or on the other side, she'd give out empty positivity. "You can do it if you believe" kind of shit.
She fucking grilled me, in the most loving way possible. She asked how I was going to do this, what I was going to do with that? I named dropped GaryVee a few times, always with the reassurance that he's not some fluffy positivity guru, he's actually built shit, and he doesn't bullshit anyone. I know this is going to be hard work, I'm going to stumble, but if I keep at it, keep moving, and stay sharp, I can keep the long game moving up. I showed her this video, and she got it. Stop watching the pep talks and stop settling for the quick jolt of motivation as enough. "Oh I'm motivated, and I feel good. I think I've earned a few hours of video games, or TV shows, or more YouTube videos, or whatever the cheap payoff is." That's been me for way too fucking long, one toe in the water, scared to jump in.
And then she asked, "If you're going to be working your face off on this, where do I fit in? Where do our future kids fit in?"
I cracked open my copy of Crush It and showed her the first rule: Love Your Family. She got it. And now she won't let me off the hook.
1,000 videos of GaryVee, and I wasn't getting off my ass and out of my own way.
One talk with my soon-to-be-wife, my life teammate, the one person whose opinion matters most to me? See you when I crack 6 figures, Gary. 🙂
Signed, the guy who in middle school bought 3-for-$1 sodas at the gas station with allowance, and flipped them at school for $1 each.
Understandable. Still, if even just one person actually changes their life because of one of these videos, maybe it's worth all the other hollow "I really needed this today" comments.
Did something about it. On route to the Caribbean as we speak. Lets see what happens next?
It starts at 1:13
I have once question about this … How does he know?
How does Gary Vee, being the self-motivating and constantly driven and energetic person know, that there are millions of people posting videos because people love the feeling of being motivated, but don't actually do anything about their motivation feeling?
I know this is true because I can relate to it. I have sat and watched motivational videos and felt pumped, and then when it came time to do the work, I've literally turned around and just watched another motivational video. But that's me, your average guy. HOW DOES GARY KNOW?
I'm not hating, I'm just curious! Is he a genius who is able to sink into the realm of the underachieved, or does he get this information from a third party? If so, when does he find time to do this?
appreciate what you do Gary! I hope you won't get tired of it and give up. I know you won't though because even if one out of thousand or more makes it and you know it was because of you, it will keep you going. Lot of people romanticize about the valuable information and experiences you share with us and I know that bugs you. But there are lots of us here also that listen to what you say and share and even if we don't feel up to doing it right now, we don't sit here and giggle about it or think it's funny. You and D-Rock are giving a lot of valuable information back to society and we all appreciate it!!! Please know that.
Love this "If you needed it, then take it and do something about it….people love the feeling of being motivated. They don't like putting in the work to do something about the feeling."
Youv helped contribute towards me stopping all the procrastination and really keeping my head down in work to finally save money to travel and sort myself out, so from a random stranger thankyou
God. I followed this site 1 week ago, I cant stand the yapping about the same fucking motivational shit over and over hahaha. Im out. Your wine site is epic btw. Cheers 🙂
You just dropped a hard truth bomb on my Mutha f*cking head top.
