  1. This "Documentary Effect" that everyone is banking on is way overblown. The Last Dance only caused a surge in prices because it happened during COVID and there were no live sports. There were lots of sports docs before that did not have the same effect. Even Long Gone Summer (Sosa/Mcgwire doc) had a much smaller effect than the Last Dance, so we're already seeing that phenomenon disappear. Ergo the lesser known vintage athletes will unfortunately continue to become even lesser known.

  3. Respectfully, Mbappe is overrated. Lot's of youngsters have had great WC appearances..where is Mario Gotze today?? Nowhere. For those that don't recognize his name, Gotze scored the winning goal for Germany in the 2014 WC. Until Mbappe proves himself outside of Ligue 1, he's just not worth the crazy prices people are paying. A move to the Prem or La Liga would make for a better assessment.
